Councillor absent
A Kaiapoi Borough ■ coun-.> cillor who stayed away from council committee meetings during February also missed February's council meeting. Cr C. W. D. Hodgson says he was not at the council meeting because of ill health. He says he intends to attend future council meetings.
When Cr Hodgson was appointed to the council’s townplanning, social services, and works and reserves committees, against his wishes, he said he would serve under the town-planning committee’s chairman, Cr M. O. Cleland.
Since then, Cr Hodgson has missed three committee meetings as well as February’s council meeting.
The Town Clerk of Kaiapoi. Mr R. N. McCabe, said that no apology had been received from Cr Hodgson.
