Ella denies report
NZPA Brisbane The Australian rugby captain, Mark Ella, has emphatically denied he might be tempted to take part in a rebel rugby tour of South Africa. He described parts of a New Zealand report attri- , buted to him as "a lot of rubbish.” Earlier this week. Ella was quoted in a New Zealand newspaper, “I can see the day coming when the South
African Rugby Board may be forced to dangle big money before the eyes of top players from other tries.”Asked if he would take part in a rebel tour, Ella was reported to have replied: “It is something I would have to decide when, and if, an approach was made to me.” Interviewed in Brisbane yesterday, Ella said: “I would not consider a rebel tour. What others do is their business.”
