Cricket ads and banners
Sir.—l have always believed that courtesy to visitors is basic to any code of good manners and I find the television advertisements for the Rothmans series cricket matches quite objectionable. I am also amazed that our television camera crews and commentators should have encouraged members of the public flaunting offensively worded banners by giving them publicity. I hope the people of Christchurch will show true sportsmanship and hospitality and that the English team will enjoy a very pleasant stay in our citv. — Yours, etc.. (Mrs) A. M. TAYLOR. Februrary 24. 1983.
