Sir,—Why is New Zealand continually cutting its own throat with regard to export potential? Case 1: Exporting Kiwifruit seedlings to the rest of the world, thereby ensuring we have many competitors. Case 2: The shambles surrounding the development of a New Zealand designed and manufactured computer. Just when the domestic market was assured (New Zealand schools) the Government procrastinated, seemingly waiting for foreign competitors to develop their own products.
