Malaysia to cut Aust. coal imports
NZPA Kuala Lumpur The strike-disrupted Australian coal industry stands to lose millions of dollars after a Malaysian decision to diversify its sources of coal imports. The "Business Times” has reported in Kuala Lumpur that although Australia was the logical source of-ail coal for Maiaysian industry, which was moving away from, dependence on oil, the Government had decided to buy also from the United States, China, and Indonesia. The newspaper said that the decision not to rely on Australia was because of the disruption wrought by strikers there, and that Australia stood to lose millions of dollars as a result.
