Under the new Dog Control and Hydatids Act 1982, every person who owns a dog shall make an application to the territorial authority in whose district thd dog is ordinarily kept to register the dog not later than the Ist day off April in every year. 2. Where a dog is of the age of .3 months or less the application to register the dog shall be made before the dog attains the age of 3 months. 3 Where an unregistered dog is purchased or otherwise acquired the application to register the dog shall be made forthwith or before the dog attains the age of 3 months, whichever is the later. 4 Every application to register a dog shall be written statement made on a form provided by the Council and signed by or on behalf of the owner. Application forms have been sent to all currently registered dog owners reminding them to register their dogs for the coming 1983/84 registration year but addition application forms are available from the Civic Offices, Dog Registration counter on the Ground Floor, City Health Department, 163 Tuam Street. The application form is to be completed showing all details as required under the new Dog Control and Hydatids Act 1982, together with the correct appropriate fee. Applications may be sent in by post or by calling at the offices between 8.30 a.m. - 4.30 p.m. Monday - Friday, commencing on Monday 7th March 1983. 5 The scale of dog control fees for 1983/84 registration year is: For Guide dogs, certified by the Royal N.Z. Foundation for the Blind as a guide do or under training as a guide, dog Nil b. For "Hearing Ear Dog” certified by the Hearing Association as being a hearing ear doq or training as hearing ear dog. For a person whose household harbours ONE dog and is maintained solely from receipt of a state benefit on economic grounds, provided that they have not sufficient income to reduce the maximum benefit. . 1 $6.00 concession. b. A refund of part of the dog control fee may be claimed during the registration year if the dog is subsequently neutered and either a signed declaration or a veterniary surgeon's certificate is produced $5.00 c. Collar Charge $3.00 d. Charge for issuing a replacement disc or label $2.00 e. A licence to keep 3 or more dogs. $15.00 7. A registration disc only will be issued with the licence when the full appropriate dog control fee has been paid. No dog shall be deemed to be registered until such fee has been paid and a receipt and disc issued. The disc must be attached to a collar worn by the dog. Collars may be purchased for an additional payment of $3.00 8. It is an offence to attach a disc or label to a dog other than to the dog for which it was issued. . ,
