New rally car
The French car firm Peugeot has unveiled a new high performance four-wheel-drive rally car which is expected to be a strong world championship challenger next year. The Peugeot 205 Turbo 16. developed from a new medium-sized saloon due to go on sale in France this week, has a 320 horsepower turbocharged 1,8 litre central
engine. The car. which the company says weighs only 900 kg (1980 pounds), is expected to pose a strong challenge to the Audi Quattro. currently the only four-wheel-drive rally car. Peugeot, which officially quit world championship rallies in October, 1981. intends to make a comeback early next year with the 205 Turbo.
