Trout stock for high lakes
Fish stocks in high-country lakes could be boosted with rainbow trout • netted from Lake Lyndon this year. The North Canterbury Acclimatisation Society has decided to net the lake, near Porters Pass, but is still considering how many fish to take, and where to transfer them. The society's secretary, Mr B. F. Webb, said that there had been a few more complaints lately from anglers about reduced catches. Lake Lyndon traditionally stocked large numbers of small fish and their release into other lakes with a better food supply could allow them to grow.
