Mark Loane retires
NZPA Brisbane Mark Loane. regarded by some as the toughest No. 8 in world rugby, has announced his retirement "because of medical reasons." "I want to further my medical career and that means giving up football." the Queensland rugby player said yesterday.
Loane. aged 28, represented Australia 29 times and made 89 appearances for Queensland during his 10 vear rugby career. He said it had become difficult, particularly towards the end of last year, to keep manufacturing challenges to meet in rugby. "But the 10 years I played were a total joy."
