World Cup profit
PA Auckland The New Zealand Football Association learned at its annual meeting yesterday that the profit from the World Cup campaign would be at least $150,000. The profit is to be shared 50-50 with the Auckland Football Association which, in the early days of the cup campaign, agreed to continue a long-standing joint agreement with the national body.
Already there are proposals to set up an academy or "home" for soccer to provide a permanent coaching and accommodation centre which could be used for. among other things, a camp before matches or tours. Three venues are being considered — Newmarket Park. Mt Smart Stadium and the Auckland University complex at Merton Rd.
