B. Purdon to drive
When conditions were announced for the New Zealand Drivers' Championship meetings to be held at Addington on March 9 and Cambridge on March 22. the present title holder. Barry Purdon. was not among the top six horsemen in the North Island. As a result Purdon will compete in the series regardless of his position on the list of leading horsemen for the season so that there will only be five positions for North Island horsemen.
