Soccer bribery arrests
NZPA-Reuter Budapest The Hungarian Soccer Federation said yesterday that it had suspended an unspecified number of players, referees, coaches and sports officials until an investigation into allegations of match-rigging was concluded.
Earlier this month, Hungarian newspapers reported that 26 men had been arrested on suspicion of swindling the national soccer pools of several million forints through forecasting results of second division matches that z had been fixed in advance by bribes.
