Rebels win last match
NZPA Welkom. South Africa The touring West Indies cricket rebels won their final match in South Africa yesterday, a 26-run victory in a benefit match against an invitation side. The South Africans were all out for 228 in reply to the West Indian Xi's 254 for nine declared after 42 of the allocated 45 overs. The West Indians came on strong. Herbert Chang made 36 with six fours and his
partner. Richard Austin, hit 91, banging four sixes and nine fours — including one streak of 24 off five consecutive balls. After their strong innings, the Rebels used 10 bowlers against the South Africans in the festive contest, including the manager, Albert Padmore. The tour contract calls for the West Indians to return next year for a second set of matches.
