Sanders Cup yachting
Auckland and Wellington have equal points in the Sanders Cup competition. All the yachts have completed six races and. dropping their worst race, Auckland and Wellington now have three firsts and two seconds each. The Auckland yacht Stanley Bay Steamer won both races yesterday with Wellington's Coup d'Etat in second place both times. The races were sailed in light southerlies in the afternoon after calm conditions halted the mornings racing. Race six was closely contested between Auckland. Southland and
Wellington with Hawkes Bay. Canterbury and Otago never threatening. In race five the Auckland yacht took off at the start and the rest of the fleet never saw it again until it was all over. The seventh and final race will be sailed this morning and will provide a very exciting finish to a well sailed series. Results.— Race 5: Auckland 1. Wellington 2. Canterbury 3. Hawke's Bay 4. Southland 5. Otago 6. Race 6: Auckland 1. Wellington 2. Southland 3. Hawke's Bay 4. Otago 5. Canterbury 6.
