Wanganui

Special correspondent Wellington The Awapuni trainer Margaret Bull is having a good spin at the moment and the winning trend could continue when she lines up Isle A Gree in the Jim Bull Potato Co. Classic at Wanganui on Saturday.

The win would be appropriate. for Miss Bull trains a number of gallopers for her brother. Jim. after whose company the race has been named. Isle A Gree's form has been excellent. He was a close fourth last time at Trentham in the Terrace Regency Handicap, won by Rama and the time before that he was third in the Ashhurst Cup. The field here is not strong and Isle A Gree's prospects look bright. Baycrest, a newcomer to this class, looks as though he could continue with his good form. He has won two of his last three at Foxton and then the City Handicap, a lesser class race at Trentham. His form all along could not have been sounder.

The improver in the field could be Glenmana. He likes the course, is not long back in this campaign and though well back last week over 2000 metres that was his first run over ground in this campaign.

King's Royal was a close third behind Saunter on the first day, while Macahan, Arzante and Kapelle Lady all have good prospects. The second leg. the Bathroomers Handicap is. like the first leg. a race for class 2 horses and after her third in class 1 last week behind High Tai, Sweet Nell looks the leading chance. The field can hardly be described as strong, but All Sevens, which resumed at Hawera al the end of the month, looks up to this class. He was second in the' Whyte at Trentham last season. McWhinney won two starts back at Foxton and will take some beating here as well.
