Wall Street retreats
NZPA New York The New York stock market retreated on Tuesday, stalling a four-day rally, amid concern about the course of interest rates. The Dow Jones average of 30 industrials fell 11.7 points to close at 1075.33. Nearly nine stocks fell in price for every seven that rose on the New’" York Stock Exchange. Volume fell to 76.58 M shares from 86.03 M on Tuesday. The exchange's composite index of all its listed common stocks fell 0.61 to 84.16.
