Emco spreads interest
PA Wellington Emco Group. Ltd. the former New Zealand Motor Corporation, now has more than 50 per cent of its assets in non-motor activities. Mr Roy Mason, managing director of Emco. announcing the group’s offer for Healing Industries unconditional. said the achievement of this figure has been a management objective for some time. “Where as the motor business remains important, through the acquisition of Group Rentals and the completion of the Healing purchase we have a group which has a better and more balanced earnings potential than one which was dependent on an industry subject to cyclical forces. ' "Healing itself is a diverse company not being reliant on any one market," Mr Mason said. Emco now holds 97 per cent of the total issued Healing ordinary and specified preference shares, including Healing shares previusly owned.
