Prize money of $50,000 is at stake in the W.S.C. finals. The winning team will take $32,000, the loser $16,000 and the man of the finals $2OOO. New Zealand won most money in the preliminary rounds. Its wins, at $3OOO each, brought in $18,000; its losses ($l5OO each) $6OOO, and it had four man of the match
awards, each valued at $5OO. a total of $26,000. England took $24,000 (wins $12,000, losses $9OOO, match awards $3000) and Australia $23,500. Australia had $15,000 in wins, $7500 in losses, and $2500 in awards but lost $l5OO in a fine for not bowling all its overs in the allotted time, in one match.
