General dies
General Sir Alan Cunningham. Britain's last High Commissioner in what was then Palestine and a successful commander in World War 11. has died at the age of 95. He was High Commissioner and Commander-in-Chief in the last years of the British mandate of Palestine from 1945-48 before the creation of the State of Israel. — London
