Woman dies after accident
PA Ashburton A Christchurch woman admitted to Ashburton Hospital with minor injuries after a three-car collision near Winslow on Sunday night died yesterday morning. She was Joyce Raitt Townley, aged 65. of 26 Suffolk Street. Linwood.
An English tourist and her small daughter were killed and two Englishmen were slightly injured when their car and a truck collided at Pokeno. south of Auckland, about 10.20 p.m. on Monday. Those killed were
Jenny Wilson, aged 28. of South Shields. Durham; and her daughter Sarah Lena Wilson, aged two. They were passengers in the rear of a vehicle driven by Mrs Wilson's husband. George Wilson.
Mr Dobson Gofton. an Englishman living in Meremere. was a front-seat passenger in the car. He and Mr Wilson were admitted to hospital with minor cuts and bruising.
The truck driver was uninjured.
