Islington men back at work
About 100 meat workers who walked out from the Islington works of Waitaki N.Z. Refrigerating. Ltd. on Wednesday were back at work again yesterday.
They walked out over what the Meat Workers' Union called a misunderstanding. The works have not killed stock since October 15 in a dispute over the cancellation of incentive contracts by the company. Wednesday’s return to work signified the end of the dispute, although not the end of the negotiations over the incentive contracts, half of which remain unsettled. .
Stock will be brought forward on Monday ready for killing to resume on Tuesday.
