Overseas interest in festival
PA Hamilton Overseas interest in the annual Sweetwaters music festival has increased, according to the organiser, Mr Daniel Keighley. Five international record companies would send representatives to the festival to check Australian and New Zealand talent, he said.
Four music magazines in the United Kingdom, the United States and Australia would have journalists covering the festival. Mr Keighley was announcing that the Scots guitarist, singer, and composer, John Martyn, would make his second appearance at the festival, near Pukekawa later this month, joining Split Enz, Toots and the Maytals. the Psychedelic Furs, and other overseas and New Zealand acts.
