Shanghai panda artificially fed
NZPA Peking Shanghai Zoo workers have achieved rare success in artificially feeding a babygiant panda, whose mother died 14 days after birth, a Shanghai newspaper has reported. The “Liberation Daily-'’ did not give details on the feeding methods, but said the baby panda had lived 130 days and now was able to climb trees and play with its keepers. r Pandas’ ability to reproduce is very low. Only about 1000 are believed to be still living in China. Breeding them had proved difficult, and the zoo had failed in eight attempts since 1962, said the newspaper.
