Torbek favoured
NZPA Melbourne The former top sprinter, Torbek, is in line for his first city win for some time at Moonee Valley today. Torbek, brought back from illness by his trainer, Wayne Walters, campaigned successfully late last year in the country, winning four of five starts.
Then .in December the seven-year-old Palm Beach gelding had two close placings on city tracks. For the 1600 m Dean Handicap today Torbek, winner of the Marlboro Cup and Toorak Handicap in 1980, is evens favourite. Closest opposition is expected to come from the Colin Hayes-trained Arch Sculptor mare Artitian, which recorded two wins and a third, each over 1600 m, at her last three starts.
