Annual carol concert
"Christmas at the Town Hall." the Christchurch Harmonic Choir's annual carol concert, will be held on Saturday at 7.30 p.m. Also appearing will be the St Mark's Boys' Choir, the Christchurch Conservatoire Orchestra, and the Workers' Educational Association drama group. The harmonic choir, with cinductor David Childs, will sing three brackets of carols, including several from other countries, such as Denmark. Austria. Spain, and Puerto Rico. Lennox Willett will con-
duet the St Mark's choir in another bracket, including John Rutter's "Star Carol." and the 15th century carol. "Myn Lyking." As usual, the audience will be asked to join in such favourite carols as "Once in Royal Davids City." and "Hark the Herald Angels Sing." The carols will be accompanied by the student conservatoire orchestra. The orchestra will also perform Britten’s "Simple Symphony" with conductor. Thomas Rogers. The W.E.A. drama group's
i item is a short play from l Dickens's "Christmas Stories." The producer will be Wendy de la Bere. A special performance of "Christmas at the Town 1 Hall" will be presented at 2 1 p.m. for the aged and disabled. The Kiwanis Club of the Port Hills is arranging transport. Anyone without transport can telephone the Town Hall office. The special afternoon performance has been a regular feature by the harmonic society since 1960.
