$22,500 for Goldies
PA Auckland Three paintings by C. F. Goldie sold for a total of $22,500 at an auction in Auckland last evening. An oil-on-canvas portrait of Mihipeka Wairama, dated 1912, fetched $B5OO. A 1935 portrait of a chieftainess of the Arawa tribe was sold for $6500 and a painting, “Thoughts of a Tohunga,” was sold for $7500.
