Huge league victory
NZPA Villeneuve. France The Kangaroos' French rugby league tour entered the realms of farce with another huge victory yesterday, this time against a Villeneuve regional side. The Australians totted up their biggest score in France with a 67-2 rout to add to last week's 65-0 canter over Roanne. Yesterday Steve Ella picked up seven tries out of a total of 17. The game reached a comical stage when the Austra-
lians played "musical boots," using seven players to attempt goals. In a wild point-scoring spree, the wing, John Ribot, called by his. full name of Ribot de Bresac in France, scored four tries and four goals from 10 attempts, the half-back, Steve Mortimer, three tries and a goal, and the wing, Eric Grothe, two tries and a goal. The Australians have now scored 147 points in their three French matches for an average of 49 a game.
