D.B. Flying Fillies Stakes for 1983
The first heat of the D.B. Flying Fillies Stakes for the 1982-83 season will be run by the Canterbury Park Trotting Club at Addington Raceway on February 4. this will be followed by South Island heats at Invercargill on February 25. Forbury Park on March 18 and Timaru on April 15. The North Island heats will be run at Cambridge on March 22, Morrinsville on April 8 and Thames on April 22. The Grand Final will be run at Alexandra Park on
May 14 and will carry a minimum stake of $33,000. Final payments have been made for 139 fillies, and a late payment of $5OO will validate an entry for any other filly. This is the last season in which a late entry fee will apply. The heats, this season will increase by $l5OO to $10,500. Total stakes for the series are expected to rise by more than $20,000 over 1981-82. Arrangements have been made for the Grand Final to be televised live.
