Mains to coach
PA Dunedin A former All Black fullback, Laurie Mains, has been appointed the Otago rugby coach. He replaces Les Smith, who resigned after three years. Mains played for New Zealand in 1971 and 1976.
Duncan Laing, a former national swimming coach, and Dennis Holden are on the selection panel with Mains as convener, the Otago Rugby Football Union management committee announced after a meeting.
