Appeal method

Sir,—l have received in my letter-box a fund-raising envelope put out by the Lions Club and Milk Vendors Association to raise funds for a day-care and residential unit for the handicapped. This may be a very worth-while project but it is foolish to suggest that donations as well as tokens be left out with the milk bottles. Almost invariably when I have left cash for milk, even if only 30c, it has been stolen. I fear that some unscrupulous people are going to have a field day on November 27 unless people only give tokens.—Yours, etc., M. F. DODGE.. November 27, 1982.
