Performing arts awards
PA Tauranga Lynne Anderson, of Howick and Katherine Austin, of Auckland, have won the performing Arts Competitions Association national awards for 1982. The awards were held in Tauranga by the Tauranga Competitions Society to mark its silver anniversary and the city’s centenary. Ms Anderson won the vocal section,. Stewart Cameron, of Auckland, was second, and Suzanne George, of Dunedin, third. Ms Austin won the' pianoforte, with Read Gainsford, of Auckland, second and Marilyn Wilson, of Whangarei, third. Each winner gets a $750 scholarship.
