Mikkola’s effortless win
NZPA-Reuter London Hannu Mikkola, of Finland,, completed a seemingly effortless record fourth win in the R.A.C. British motor rally yesterday. Mikkola, driving an Audi Quattro which ran trouble free throughout the five-day 2900 km event, held such a, commanding lead that he eased up over the closing
timed stages in Yorkshire. The Frenchwoman, Michele Mouton, underlined her class by finising second in another Audi Quattro, more than four minutes behind Mikkola. Another Finn. Henry Toivonen, who interrupted Mikkola’s run of wins two years ago, was third in an Opel Ascona 400, 9s behind Mouton.
