The appointee will have the appropriate qualifications to teach Linguistics and English Language from introductory to advanced University level, as well as special interests and teaching competence within the areas of syntax and semantics. Ability to teach one or more of the following at under-graduate level is also desirable: language change, especially with relation to the history of English; the description of present-day English; and English as a Second Language.
