Since 1980, the monthly average of unemployed school-leavers has remained at more than 4200.
The figures peaked in January, 1981, when 7035 school-leavers were registered as unemployed. In October, the number was 2696.
The figures rose again in January this year, when 6073 school-leavers were unemployed. In October, 3106 school-leavers were registered.
