Govt to support ‘Road Show’

The Government has decided to provide $45,000 to support the national tour of the Christchurch road safety production,. “Road Show,” next year. At a ceremony outside Parliament Buildings this morning the Minister of Transport, Mr Gair, will formally agree to provide about $45,000 for resource kits which will be provided for the schools that take part in the show. The “Road Show” was first presented in Christchurch
this year. It was written, composed, and produced by Mr John Densem, a draftsman with, the Christchurch City Council. The show, which uses'filirj and special effects, was such a success in Christchurch that a Roadshow Trust was established to plan a national tour so that every secondary school pupil in New Zealand could see it.
The budget for the tour is about $450,000. The Accident Compensation Corporation has provided ’ a $lOO,OOO grant.
