Promotion group gets new chief

Mr T. J. Mains has been appointed chief executive of the South Island Promotion Association of New Zealand. He succeeds Mr M. F. Foate, who has retired after holding the post for 18 years. Mr Mains was ex-officio chairman of S.I.P.A.’s promotions committee for a number of years and served on other S.I.P.A. working committees. At the same time he worked in the Government Tourist Bureau, but retired in June last year. He held the posts of assistant director in the department’s head office and district manager at Invercargill, Wellington, and Christchurch.
