Veteran women’s title
Nine pairs from outside Christchurch are among the 64 pairs which will contest the New Zealand veteran women’s handicap foursomes golf championship at Harewood from November 1 to 4. The top 16 pairs from the stroke qualifying rounds on Monday will compete in the match-play elimination for the N.Z.L.G.U. salvers. The oldest combination is
from the Greendale club. Two sisters, Neroli Ridgen and May Dysart, have a combined age of 151 years. Foremost among the competitors are Vai Cullen, of Christchurch, and Una Wickham, of Tauranga. The two well-known identities will team together and have a combined handicap of seven, with Mrs Cullen playing on a handicap of three.
