Field down to six
PA Auckland Voting for the 1982 Sportsman of the Year contest has been narrowed to six entries. The winner will be announced at the annual dinner in Auckland on November 23. The six finalists are: Anne Audain. the New Zealand Davis Cup team, the N.Z. rowing eight, the N.Z. World
Cup soccer team. Allison Roe and Glenn Turner.’ Three of the six are former winners: Mrs Roe (1981), Turner (1973) and the rowing eight (1971-72). The voting period is from October 1. 1981. to September 30. 1982. and thus does not include the Brisbane Commonwealth Games.
