Advisory body
Parliamentary reporter
A new body may be set up to advise the Government on social matters. It will probably replace the Social Development Council and the Council of Social Service.
A chairman may be sought among chairwomen of hospital boards.
The new body is expected to have a main role in the pending reorganisation of health administration in coordinating health and social welfare. It will also address itself to big social problems arising in urban areas, and may supersede the Urban Affairs Committee of the Environment Council, if that committee is dissolved.
