Builders’ building off
The Canterbury Master Builders and Joiners’ Association has been refused permission to build an office and assembly rooms in Deans Avenue. After a special hearing last evening, the Riccarton Borough Council declined an application by the association to build premises at 145 Deans Avenue.
The council’s town-plan-ning committee had earlier recommended that the application be granted, but the full council voted against that recommendation, latelast month. The special hearing was held last evening to enable the full council to consider again the application.
