A marketing manager alleged to have stolen almost $lO,OOO from his employer over a period of 19 months was remanded without plea until tomorrow when he appeared before . Judge Fogarty in the District Court yesterday. Craig William Calder, aged 30. is charged with stealing the money from Noel teeming, Ltd.

A man who admitted indecently assaulting a girl, aged 12. was convicted and remanded on bail of $2OOO to November 8 for a probation report and sentence.

DEPOSITIONS A steel worker charged with the attempted rape of a woman at Invercargill on July 5 was remanded to the District Court at Invercargill for the taking of depositions on November 22. He is Shane Henry Fisher, aged 24 (Mr S. G. Barker). Although bail was opposed by Sergeant Dwyer, Fisher w’as granted bail of $lOOO with a surety of the same amount. In addition Fisher was ordered to report to three times a week to the police. TANKER CHARGE A man charged with unlawfully taking a mini-tanker trailer containing beer, valued at $4600, on October 23 was remanded without plea to November 16. Mervyn John Joseph Chisholm, aged 22, a fitter and welder, was granted bail of $l5OO. . The tanker was the property of the Yaldhurst Hotel. BURGLARIES An unemployed man who admitted two burglaries committed in North Canterbury on October 18 was convicted and remanded in custody to November 2 for a probation report and sentence.

Tate and Ringdahl are also charged with burgling the Cheviot supermarket. Tate was remanded on bail to December 17 for a defended hearing. Ringdahl and Cullen were further remanded without plea, in custody, to November 2. TRIAL A man alleged to have stolen a china ' figurine, valued at $773, on September 28, elected trial by jury. Thomas Robert Allingham. aged 52, unemployed (Mr M. J. Glue) was remanded on renewed bail to December 6 for the taking of depositions. The figurine was the property of the Farmers' Trading Company.
