PA Hastings Only two points separated New Zealand’s top two riders, Andrew Clements (New Plymouth) and Paul Symons (Hastings) after 18 hours of competition in the three-day national motorcycle trial championships near Napier yesterday. Clements narrowly won the title ahead of Symons, who finished second for the third successive season. Championship results: A grade: Clements 39pts. 1; Symons 37. 2; Mike Vincent (Hamilton) 33. 3. B grade: Warren Hill (Tauranga) 42. 1; Kevin Donovan (Hastings) 39. 2; Jeff Curran (Hastings) 20. 3. Teams: Taranaki 1, Hawkes Bav 2.
