Rain dispelled for Queen
NZPA Tarawa A local wizard was called in to stop a tropical downpour which threatened to dampen a welcome planned for the Queen on her first visit to the South Pacific island nation of Kiribati yesterday. losiabata, a famed rain stopper, cast his spells and then, as customs dictates, disappeared to make them work. Ten minutes before the Queen stepped ashore the rainstorm-also disappeared. The visit is the first by a British Monarch to this nation of 28 islands.
