Arthritis drug
Sir,—You carried a Press Association report. "Arthritis cure unlikely soon" (October 20) that attributed several statements to me. I would like to correct one of those statements. It was said that I “believed that Feldene was the most important drug discovery in the arthritis field.” This is not so. While Feldene offers greater convenience for the patient and another drug of its type for doctors to consider when treating arthritic patients, it is not “the most important drug discovery.” It is, instead, another step forward in the very difficult area of drug therapy for arthritis.— Yours, etc., JOSEPH T. LOMBAR-. DINO. October 21, 1982.
