N.I. trains delayed
PA Palmerston North Train communications north of Feilding were cut yesterday after an express goods train struck a leaning telegraph pole. A scrub fire early yesterday left the pole leaning over a section of the track be-
tween Feilding and Halcombe. It was struck by the Auck-land-Wellington express as it rounded a bend. The train was not • damaged but it and three other goods trains were delayed half an hour.
