Aust. Army chief to visit
The Australian Army's chief of General Staff, tenant-General P. H. Bennett, will visit New Zealand this week.
■ It will be his first visit to New Zealand since becoming Chief of General Staff in February this year.
General Bennett will arrive in Christchurch from Australia tomorrow and will be met at Christchurch Airport by the New Zealand Chief of General Staff' Major-General R. G. Williams.
On Wednesdsay General Bennett will visit Burnham Camp where he will inspect a guard, of honour, visit a Regular Force junior N.C.O.
course, the 3 Field Regimment and a senior N.C.O. course for the 2nd Battalion (Canterbury, Nelson, Marlborough. and West Coast) Royal New Zealand Infantry Regiment.
In the afteroon General Bennett will fly by R.N.Z.A.F. helicopter to Lake Coleridge, where the 2nd/Ist Battalion is holding a 10 day exercise.
' He will also visit military camps at Waiouru and Papa kura during his New Zealand visit. In Wellington on Friday. he will meet the Minister of Defence, Mr Thomson, senior Ministry of Defence officials, and ’ call on .the Australian High Commissioner. Mr,J. J Wehster
