Body found in forest
PA Gisborne The Gisborne police have so far been unable to identify a badly decomposed body found in the Wharerata State forest on Saturday. The body, believed to be that of a man, was examined by a pathologist in Gisborne yesterday. The police have made another search of the area in which it was found. Senior-Sergeant R. M.
Moore said that the body was found by two Forest Service staff on a hunting trip. It was lying, in native bush in the forest which is about 30km from Gisborne. The body was found by a track and there was a rope hanging from a nearby tree. After a search yesterday, the police said they had found personal papers giving a clue to the man’s identity.
