Shipping rates for European trade decided

PA Wellington The Meat Board and the Dairy Board have reached agreement with the British Shipping Lines and the Shipping Corporation of NewZealand on freight rates for European trade, starling in Nbveniber. The new consolidated rates provide for an increase of 1.5 per cent for meat. Those for dairy produce will benefit from a 1 per cent rebate in recognition of extra flexibility in load scheduling offered by the Dairv Board. 1 --

"While notice of termination had been given, the boards will soon be discussing with the lines arrangements for the future shipping of meat and dairy products from New Zealand. The Meat Board in particular will be evaluating- recornmendat ions for change arising from its recently completed report on ocean transportation."
