General forecast: The cold front over the north of the North Island is moving to the north-east. The intense anticyclone centred over Australia is moving slowly east and extends a ridge towards New Zealand. However, the cold front over the south Tasman Sea is moving quickly northeast and should bring’ a brief south-west wind change to East Coast districts. The westerly flow following this front will give a few showers to Buller and Westland.
