NZPA Melbourne Grosvenor won the 1600 metres Caulfield Guineas on Saturday to join Prince Majestic as a top fancy to continue the domination byNew Zealand-bred horses in the Caulfield Cup. to be run next Saturday. The Sir Tristram colt, which has only 47kg in the Cup. was posted 4-1 favourite for the 2400 m, $252,000 big race after a fine performance to win the Guineas. Near last and wide on the home turn, he unleashed a withering burst to win well. New Zealand-breds have won eight of the last 11 cups. Prince Majestic was munching hay at his Epsom stable while the other cup hopefuls were going through their paces at Caulfield on Saturday.
